Our week 20th November - Linmere

Date: 26th Nov 2017 @ 8:50pm

It was another jam packed week for the staff and children of Linmere this week.

In English we started the week by thinking about the city in which the story of "The Promise" is set. We used our ideas to create some truly amazing list poems. The vocabulary choices that the children made really captured the atmosphere of the city. Well done to everyone. The end of the week saw the children participating in drama based activities and using relative clauses to describe the people who lived and worked in the city.

Continuing with our theme of multiplication and division our maths work involved investigating what happened to numbers when you multiplied and divided them by 0 or 1.  We also investigated whether the order in which you multiplied numbers mattered.

Topic work required a lot of patience and concentration. We began by looking at volcanoes and sketching them. We are now working on turning our sketches into collages in the style of Margaret Godfrey- this is proving to be more difficult than we first imagined but the children are working really hard on them. Watch this space for our finished masterpieces!

Rehearsals for our choral project are also well under way and we are looking forward to performing for you soon.

Have a great weekend.
