Our week 27th November - Linmere

Date: 2nd Dec 2017 @ 10:41am

I can’t believe it’s December already! The first “doors” on our advent calendar have been opened and the countdown begins!

All the excitement hasn’t stopped us from working hard this week though. The descriptive writing that the children have produced this week has been amazing. They really tried to step inside the character of the girl from our book “The Promise.” Different ways to open their sentences and use of expanded noun phrases and relative clauses are all coming together to produce a superb finished piece.

In maths we looked at and investigated factors, multiples and prime numbers. The children are becoming experts at using their maths mats to help them in class but regular practice of their times tables at home will really help to boost their skills.

Our volcano collages are now finished and look great. Next week we hope to make our own model volcanoes. With this in mind please could you bring in any small plastic bottles (not the big 1 litre ones!) that you may have at home on Monday. It would be lovely if every child could make their own model.

Next week we will be performing our choral presentation that we have been working so hard on. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Enjoy the weekend.
