Parliament Week in Oakmere

This week in Oakmere, we have been investigating Parliament, its importance in our history and the different parts that make it up.

We created our own timeline of the key events in our history, such as the Magna Carta, where limits were put on the King's powers, the introduction of Votes for Women and Devolution, where some powers to make laws were passed back the the different parts of the UK.

We also learnt that Parliament is made up of different political parties which all stand for different ideas.  From this we created our own political parties about an issue that was important to us.
