Today, our Reading Champions spent some time in the afternoon sharing and reading stories with the children in Hatchmere. The Reading Champions carefully selected the books they wanted to share and spent time practising the reading of the book. As it is was such a lovely afternoon, the Reading Champions sat with the children in the outdoor area in Hatchmere and read the stories to them. It was wonderful listening to the children read but also seeing the faces of the Hatchmere children who were enjoying having a story read to them. The children were encouraged to join in with the rhyme of the book, look for different objects on the pages and talk about their favourite parts. The Reading Champions thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to reading with the children again in a couple of weeks.
