Sandymere - Week 2!
Date: 30th Mar 2020 @ 12:17pm
Hello Sandymere!
We hope that you had an enjoyable weekend. What did you get up to? The Worstencroft weekend was made up of playing in the garden, going for bike rides, making (and eating!) homemade cornflake cakes and learning to play the Ukulele. I also introduced my girls to the Disney classic 'Lady and the Tramp' which has backfired really as they are now both set on getting a pet dog!!!
As we head into our second week at home, I thought that I would just check in and let you know about some more resources that I have found.
The first is called The Spelling Frame. Simply click on the link below, select Year 1 and then choose which spelling rule you would like to practise. It might be good to start with spelling rule 33 - 40 to practise the Year 1 common Exception Words.
White Rose Maths have also released Week 2 of their Home Learning resources, continuing the unit of measure. These weekly plans have videos to support both you and your child and lots of follow on activities.

Finally, something that my daughter Annie has enjoyed this week, is using The Maths Factor website. It has a daily maths session for your child, taught by none other than the fabulous Carol Vorderman (I am probably showing my age now!) There are practise activities and lots of games to work on basic skills. It takes a little time to register but I would highly recommend it as a high quality learning resource.

Please do remember that there is no pressure to complete the activities that we are sharing, they are just there should you need them. Do whatever works best for you and your family.
The most important thing is to keep safe, keep smiliing and we will see you soon.
