Sandymere 12.12.21

Date: 12th Dec 2021 @ 4:02pm

This week we have been taking part in the whole school Interfaith Week. In Sandymere, we focussed on Christianity and in particular their place of worship. We went on a visit to St John’s Church and Eddie showed us around. We found out that it is the Christians gathering together that make a Church and not the building itself. This led us on to look at the buildings that Christians use around the World and then we created our own churches.

In English we have finished reading Nibbles and we all wrote a recount of the events in the story. I am very proud of everyone’s independent writing skills and the progress they have made this term.

We have focussed on 3D shapes in maths and next week we will be learning about 2D shapes.

In science we thought about why not all materials are suitable for all objects. We decided that sitting on a sofa made of stone or kicking a ball made of glass would not be a good idea.

Take a look at the photos to see our week in pictures.

See you tomorrow for our last week before the Christmas break.

Mrs Bettley.
