Sandymere 25.6.22

Date: 25th Jun 2022 @ 8:13am

This week we have started a new book called Tidy by Emily Gravett. We found out that Pete has made a visit to our outside area. This helped us to find out some things about him before we read the book. We are enjoying the book and it's many messages. So far the children have said it is about friendship, thinking about others and not just what you like/want, community, forgiving people when they make a mistake and finally taking care of the World that God created. You can have a listen to this wonderful story here. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NUSQEPbc8Mc

In maths we are continuing our work with numbers to 100. We have been partitioning numbers using the vocabulary of tens and ones. We have now moved onto comparing these numbers and next week we will be ordering them as well as a dinging one more and one less.
Dot to dots are a great way to practise counting forwards and they can also be used to count backwards. The children have enjoyed doing a couple of these as extension tasks in class this week.

We are getting ready for sports day and have learnt how to use the lanes in the track on the field. We have some speedy and determined athletes amongst us!

Have a wonderful weekend and I will see you on Monday morning.
