Sandymere Class Blog 8.5.25

Another busy week and it only started on Tuesday!

In maths we have been measuring objects in centimetres (cm). We learnt how to use a ruler to measure the length and height of objects. Have you got a ruler at home so that you can continue to practise this skill?

In English we have been learning to write question sentences and punctuate these correctly. We then started to look at adding the suffixes er and est to adjectives. This was quite tricky and we will be looking at it again next week.

Thursday was all about VE Day. We hope that the children enjoyed their day celebrating the 80th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. They should be able to tell you lots of facts about VE Day and why we still celebrate it 80 years later. We made party crowns, learnt lots of facts and made our own flying Spitfires. You can tell how much fun we had on the attached photograph, what wonderful smiles!
