Sandymere Learning Update 22.12.16

Date: 22nd Dec 2016 @ 8:58am

Well this is it... the last Sandymere blog for the year 2016!

And what a wonderful year it has been.  We have settled in beautifully to Year 1 and had such fun learning together and building happy memories. May I take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of you for your continuous support.

This week we have been getting our crafting skills out and created two beautiful Christmas cards.  One which I sent home on Tuesday which involved paper folding and collage decoration and a second which involved stipple printing and LOTS of glitter! Well, it wouldn't be Christmas without glitter!!!!  The glitter cards will be sent home today as I forgot to send them on Wednesday - oops!

Also this week we polished off our performance skills in preparation for the carol concert on Tuesday night and may I say how fabulous the children were.  Not a flicker of stage fright to be seen.  It was wonderful to see so many parents and families supporting this event.

We have worked on our mental addition and subtraction with a Christmas twist and revised key phonemes whilst creating a festive picture.  We do like multi task.  You can find copies of these in your child's book bag.

Also in your child's book bags are TWO new books to read, a copy of their attendance percentage, cards and gifts from the teachers and probably some left over snacks!  PLease could you have a rummage in their book bags (if you dare!) and clear them out ready for January?

All that's left for me to say is HAPPY CHRISTMAS.  See you all on 9th January 2017.
