Sandymere Learning Update 25.3.16

Date: 28th Mar 2016 @ 4:42pm

The week whizzed by and there was a definite theme for all things Easter! We practised hard for our performance in the church and we hope that you were proud of our readings and song.  Well done to the three girls for speaking into the microphone for the first time - very grown up!

In maths we practised counting in 2s, 5 and 10s and looked at recording these as repeated addition.  We can tell that some of you have been practising this at home too as there is an increase in confidence.

In Literacy we have looked at information about seahorse babies and rehearsed sentences about whether we would like to be a seahorse baby and giving reasons using 'because'.  Through talk partner work we all gave clear reasons.  We then when on to compare seahorse babies to human babies.  Did you know that seahorse babies can hang off their daddy's nose?

In geography we compared physical and human features and sorted these using a grid.  The children then went on to complete their information maps showing everything we would find on Antarctica including human and physical features.

In phonics we have been really practising our robot arms and looking at alien words. Please do keep practising at home too.
