Sandymere Week 8 PART 2

Date: 13th May 2020 @ 11:37am

Hello everyone,

We are sure there have been lots of wonderful stories and books being shared during lockdown so if you're looking for inspiration and new books to share then take a look at Literacy Counts wonderful website of stories read by Gareth

  1.   https://literacycounts.co.uk/parents/storytime-counts/
  • Story Time Counts: Grandad’s Island
  • Story Time Counts: The Promise
  • Story Time Counts: The Storm Whale

They are such wonderful stories and a real treat!

Have you created a ‘Book Nook’ in your homes?  In our house we have a cosy corner near our bookcase with a rocking chair, beanbags, cushions and blankets – the rocking chair is a real favourite! Sometimes there is a bit of a battle as to who sits there to read!

You could also try Oxford Owl for search for some online reading material –

or you could try the 'Teach your monster to read' site for free games and activities for supporting reading.

If you want to brush up on your phonics skills then how about trying out some of these websites?
