Sandymere's Class Blog 15.10.22

Date: 15th Oct 2022 @ 9:44am

Another week full of fun, learning new things and developing confidence in all areas of school life.

What have we been up to this week?

In geography we carried out a fieldwork study of our school. We had to observe the different parts of our school and then use this to create a map. The maps are amazing and I am looking forward to you being able to see them at our pupil consultation evening after half term.

Our English this week is all about a poem by Roger Stevens called There’s No Such Thing as Monsters. This poem makes us laugh, particularly at the end. Have a listen to the video where you can hear us performing the poem as a class. You can find it at the bottom of this blog.

Maths proved to be quite challenging at the start of the week as we moved on to look at writing addition calculations. By Friday our confidence and knowledge had grown, resulting in everyone getting every question correct in Friday’s lesson. Wow!

In art we continued to look at mark making and drawing skills. This week we added in colour using oil pastels and chalk. Everyone is very proud of our Sandymere Spirals display.

Our other lessons this week have been phonics, handwriting, number work, PE, RE, PSHCE, Music and Guided Reading.

Have a lovely weekend in the sunshine.

See you all on Monday.
