Sandymere’s Class Blog 24.10.24

Date: 24th Oct 2024 @ 6:27am

It has been lovely to meet you this week at our first pupil consultations in Sandymere. We hope that you enjoyed looking at their wonderful work and sharing in their successes so far.

This week we have:

  • been looking at the weather forecast, learning about weather symbols and then monitoring the weather using our observation skills and thermometers.
  • read a book in English called Christopher Pumpkin by Sue Hendra. What a friendly pumpkin Christopher is! We followed instructions to make a Christopher Pumpkin door hanger which the children should have brought home with them today.

  • completed our place value unit in maths. After the half term break we will be moving into addition and subtraction within 10.

  • sorted materials according to their properties. We used words such as dull, shiny, rough, smooth, hard, soft, bendy, stiff, see-through (transparent) and not see-through (opaque).

We hope that the children have a lovely half term and look forward to welcoming them back on Monday 4th November.
