Sandymere's Class Blog 27.6.25

Date: 27th Jun 2025 @ 3:20pm

This week we have continued learning about numbers to 100. We have been counting forwards and backwards, finding one more and one less and recognising numbers shown using different models and images.

At the end of the week, we have been looking at telling the time to o’clock and half past. This is a really important life skill and something that can be regularly practised at home.

In English we have been introduced to a new punctuation mark to use in our writing. We have already seen them in our reading but this week we have had to use them in our writing too. This is not that easy! We are going to continue practising this for the rest of the term. If you would like to support at home, you could do this by looking for exclamation marks in reading books and exploring why they have been used by the author.

Our science lesson this week was mostly outside. We learnt that plants can be garden plants or wild plants so we went outside to find them. There were mostly garden plants around the school playground but up on the field we found more wild plants. Perhaps you could have a look at the plants in your garden, are they wild or garden plants? There are lost of different apps that you can use on a tablet or phone to help with the identification of the plants. Let us know what you find.

We hope that you have a lovely weekend,

Team Sandymere.
