Wow! This week went fast and it has been full of lots of learning and fun in Sandymere Class,
This week we have:
- Amazed people with our super reading in Guided Reading. We go off into small groups in spaces around the school and we have been getting some lovely comments from not only staff in our school but also visitors. They can’t believe how focussed and confident we are. Well done!
- Found out about comparing numbers using the words more, less and equal. We met Blockzilla and we will be finding out more about him next week. Numberblocks - Series 3: Blockzilla - BBC iPlayer
- Our book in English has been so much fun this week. Has your child told you anything about it? I am sure if you follow the link your child will enjoy joining in with this story again The Diddle That Dummed- Bedtime Stories with Fi (youtube.com)
- Explored the weather and the seasons in both our Geography and Science lessons. In Science we went on an Autumn walk around the school grounds and found lots of signs that Autumn has arrived. In Geography we focussed on the weather. We were thinking about how the weather affects what we can do and how we might feel.
- Created spirals using chalk and wax crayons. They are display in the classroom if you would like to see them.
On Monday, we will be awarding the first NumBots certificates. Each week there will be three certificates. These are awarded based on the number of coins earned in the previous 7 days. This is a recognition of effort and is not based on always getting the answers correct. Children will also be awarded a certificate for each stage that they pass.
Have a lovely weekend,
Team Sandymere.
