World Book Day 2022
What a fabulous day was had by all on Thursday 3rd March 2022 for the 25th Anniversary of World Book Day. We based our day on the fantastic book by Drew Daywalt - The Day the Crayons Quit. The book is about the adventures of a little boy called Duncan and his mischievous box of crayons. Throughout the day, each class took part in different activities inspired by this book and it was lovely to see the different things the children were doing. it was lovely to see all the children and staff dressed in their crayon colour. A highlight of our day was recreating our very own Over St. Johns box of crayons.
We also held two story-telling sessions at the end of the day based on the sequel – The Day the Crayons Came Back. We unfortunately couldn’t hold our campfire session we had planned, but we made the most of the situation and held it in the hall, which was lovely and cosy. Thank you to all that attended these. There was also a pre-loved book stall with books that were looking for new homes and we were thrilled to see that all books found new homes.
