Year 5/6 High 5 Netball

I am thrilled to say that we took 2 teams down to The Academy last Thursday to take part in a High 5 Netball Tournament. When we arrived, there were teams practising on the courts and I must admit, they all looked like they knew what they were doing and we all felt quite intimidated!

There was no need to be worried because both of our teams played really well andmost importantly, kept on trying. Each match consisted of four quarters and after every quarter, each player had to move to a different position. This proved very confusing to all of the schools and I must say at times, none of us knew which way we should be shooting!!! Of course, everyone improved during the course of the evening so the matches became very competitive.

I am extremely pleased to announce that our blue team , Heidi, Oliver, Jorja, Alycia, Josh and Hannah managed to win all of their matches and ended up on top of the leader board. Our yellow team, Mya, Stella, Jack, Lauren, Max and Rebecca put up a good fight and again, improved in every match. Well done to both teams!

Both teams have been invited back in November to compete against the same schools and the overall winners will go forward to represent the Winsford Cluster in the finals.
