02.03.2018 - Oakmere's Week

Date: 2nd Mar 2018 @ 7:45pm

What a busy first week back we have had! We have written poetry about the ocean and have begun to explore our new book in English called The Seal Surfer. The children made some excellent predictions about what they thought the story may be about from items relating to the text and the book's front cover.

We have been adding and subtracting different units of measure in Maths with the added challenge of having to convert between cm and m or cm and mm. Even though this was an extremely tricky task the children worked extremely hard.

In topic we have explored which countries were either allied or axis powers at the start of World War 2. The children put their geogrpahy skills to the test in finding and labelling a world map with this countries. We were also extremely luck y to receive two gas masks from Jayden's Grandad that were given out during the war. The children will have the opportunity to explore these next week.

I also wanted to say how proud I was of the year 3 children this week when we went swimming. They were all superb!

Finally, thank you all for your kind support towards the Brain Tumour Charity.

Have a lovely weekend.
