05.09.2019 - Blakemere's First Week

Date: 5th Sep 2019 @ 8:34pm

What a wonderful first week back we have had in Blakemere. I am incredibly impressed with the children's mature attitudes towards their learning. They are keen and engaged and this is great to see. We have produced some very thoughtful End of the Day Prayers, written poetry about ourselves, which you can see in the image below, created a Blakemere's favourite reads board where we can recommend books, undertaken some Maths challenges and spoken about our hopes and worries for the year to come.

Tomorrow, the children will be writing School Council speeches and take part in a democratic vote to elect our class School Council reps.

Thank you to all the children who have read at home so far this week. Keep it up!! Reading each day is extremely important and something that we will be encouraging all year. Dr Seuss spoke very wisely about reading when he said, "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.” ...

Times tables and spellings will be coming home from next week.

Please keep checking our blog and web page for information about what we are learning about.

Any questions, please come and speak to me.
