06.11.2020- Blakemere's Week

Date: 6th Nov 2020 @ 9:38pm

What a wonderful first week we have had together Blakemere and one where we have achieved so much. I have been very  impressed with the dedication and hard work the children have shown this week within all areas of their learning.

English - We have started to explore our new book in English called The Water Tower. The children have so far made predictions and drawn inferences aboutt he text based on the information I have given them, read a little of the text and created expanded noun phrases for an image which we shall be using to write a setting description for next week,

Maths -  We explored multiples, factors, prime numbers, square and cubed numbers this week and solved problems involving all these areas of Maths. We have talked about the importance of using a method and working logically and methodically.

Science - We have begun to explore our topic of light and looked at the meaning to different words associated with light.

Topic - We explored the world and labelled the continents, Equator, Tropics, Hemispheres and Poles.

Parliament Week - Today we explore and learned about Parliament, The House of Commons and The House of Lords. We explored the role that each of them play and how our country is governed. We talked about the term democracy and what this means. The children then produced some information pamphlets to share their findings.

SECRET QUESTION - Tell Mrs M the answer to 9 squared.

I have loved every minute of being back in Blakemere this week and I look forward to another great week together. Have a great weekend and I shall see you Monday.
