07.10.2016 - Oakmere - What a busy week!

Date: 9th Oct 2016 @ 4:27pm

We have had another very busy week in Oakmere. The weeks seem to be flying by!

We have continued to use the book Beware of Boys to help with our writing of instructions. We have all created our very own recipe for Girl Pie. They sound very tasty indeed! We also followed a recipe to make Mexican cookies on Thursday and will be writing our own instructions for these next week.

In Maths we have been rounding numbers to the nearest 10 and learning about Roman Numerals. The children enjoyed exploring what letters were used to make different numbers and are becoming more confident in writing and recogninsing the Roman Numerals 1-20.

Our topic lesson gave us the opportunity to be Spanish Conquistadors exploring Central America. We learnt about how they conquored the land and found the Ancient Mayan ruins. We wrote diary entries in the role of a conquistador detailing our thoughts and feelings about finding these magnificent ruins. Some excellent writing was produced.

Please remember to bring in donations of biscuits for the Harvest festival.

See you Monday!
