09.03.2018 - Another great week in Oakmere.

Date: 9th Mar 2018 @ 9:53pm

We have had another fabulous week in Oakmere with the children working extremely hard in all areas of their learning. The week started positively with the children producing excellent setting descriptions in English. I was blown away by their choices of vocabulary and it is clear that they story we are reading is inspiring them.

Maths has focused on exploring the perimeter of 2d shapes and the year 4 children were encourged to find the perimeter of more challenging rectilinear shapes. The children rose to the challenge and have shown a good understanding of this concept. This was especially evident today when they applied their knowedlge to a reasoning problem involving perimeter. The year 4 children also began to explore the area of 2d shapes at this point too.

Check out our science page for information on our investigation this week.

We also need to say a hufe thank you to Jayden and his Grandad for bringing in two gas masks from WW2. The children have thoroughly enjoyed looking at them and learning all about them.

Each week in Oakmere the children vote for who they think is our 'worker of the week.' Well done to Kyran for being voted as Oakmere's worker of the week for allhis hard work.

Have a great weekend and see you all Monday.
