14.9.18 This week in Linmere

Date: 16th Sep 2018 @ 7:39am

We've enjoyed another jam-packed week in Linmere and the children have worked extremely hard.

Earlier in the week, the children became detectives as they discovered bits of tin around the classroom! This started our work on our first text in English, 'The Tin Forest. The children have created some super setting descriptions of this mysterious place.

In Maths, we were looking at writing, ordering, comparing and rounding numbers. We will be continuing with rounding next week as it's a tricky concept to grasp!

We kicked off our new topic by becoming archaeologists as we explored a range of artefacts all the way from the Stone Age through to modern day. We tried to work out in which period of time that each one came from and then also used our sketch books to produce some accurate drawings of them. In Science we continued to investigate rocks and started testing samples to determine what type of rock each one is.

Well done to Reuben, Kian and Jacky who all have work displayed as Excellent Examples this week! The class then voted for Kian as 'Worker of the Week', so a special well done to him!
