Hello and welcome back to a lovely and sunny summer term!

It is so lovely to be back all together once again and it has been absolute pleasure to see so many happy, smiling faces.    We have been very busy in Delamere class and the children have shown great independence!

In English we have started to look at two poems based on the theme of night time.  We have looked at the meanings of the poems and explored lots of new vocabulary.  There was a clear favourite with a poem called Questions in the Night where the children were intrigued by a series of questions asked by the poet.  There was a lot of interest in the The Great Bear constellations and the Milky Way.  It might be an idea to find out more about the constellations with your child at home - they were all quite fascinated!  This website could help your child to find out more https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=adKrNga8-Qs

In phonics we have been reviewing the ear grapheme and also taken a look at using apostrophes for contracting words such as is not = isn't, they have = they've.

In Maths this week we have been looking at equal sharing and division.  We have carried out lots of practical activities to practice sharing of objects into groups of 2, 3, 4 and even 10. We have applied our skills to number stories and problem solving activities too.  In addition to this we have been focusing upon our fluency skills in maths and exploring a range of different vocabulary associated with addition and subtraction.  The term
