23.11.2018 - Another great week in Blakemere!

Date: 24th Nov 2018 @ 6:42pm

What another successful week we have had in Blakemere. The children have continued to work extremely hard and are showing excellent commitment and drive towards their learning.

In English, the children have now completed the biographies they have written about someone who they were interested in. I have been extremely impressed with the writing that the children have produced and it has been jam-packed with lots of the features that we have been exploring over the past half term. I have also enjoyed reading and learning about the different people the children have written about. Next week, we shall be moving on to poetry and information texts about a sea creature.

Maths continues to focus on fractions and the children have been working hard on comparing and ordering fractions with different denominators. The children have been finding common denominators to help complete this work and are continuing to see the importance of using their times tables to help within all different areas of maths.

In Science, the children have started to plan their own scientific enquiry about exercise and heart rate. This will be continued next week and I look forward to seeing their results.

It has also been Inter Faith week this week. Throughout the week, we have had visitors who have come to talk to us about their different religions and faith. We have also explored Christianity in a different country - Morocco- and produced an information poster about our findings. This will soon be displayed proudly in our classroom.

See you all on Monday.
