27.04.2018 - Oakmere's blog

Date: 29th Apr 2018 @ 3:59pm

We have had another busy week in Oakmere with lots of excellent learning taking place.

In English we have written a letter to Grandad from our story to tell him about all the exciting things that have happened. The children have written such beautiful and well thought out letters. They have structured their writing into paragraphs, used preposititions and some excellent vocabulary. This is the last piece of work based on the text the Seal Surfer and next week the children will be producing some Kenning poetry about rainforest animals.

Maths has focused on exploring equivalent fractions and the children have made a good start in seeing the connections between equivalent fractions using a variety of resources - cuisienaire rods, fraction walls and shapes.

On Friday we were lucky enough to have a Kung Fu taster session. The children enjoyed learning about the art of Kung Fu and practising some of the basic steps.

Well done to Isabel for being voted Oakmere's Worker of the Week by the children in our class.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend and I shall see you in the morning.
