29.04.16 Sandymere Learning Update

Date: 29th Apr 2016 @ 9:37am

This week we have finished our information text about Seahorses and worked hard to include 'and' to join and extend our sentences. The children are looking forward to seeing their work go up on display in the classroom aquarium! Photos to follow.

In maths we have been focussing our attentions to adding 10 more to a given number.  The children have found out a quick and clever way of doing this and have enjoyed coaching each other.  Could you practise counting in 10s from any given number at home? for example 2, 12, 22, 32, 42 ...

In Science the children have searched for signs of Spring although this is proving tricky with the extreme weather fronts we have been experiencing this week!  Next week we are going to begin our new theme on keeping healthy.

In art, the children have completed their superhero handprints and these will soon adorn the front covers of their new topic books for our superhero topic. They look fabulous!

We had the pleasure of Alex Waring again this week who showed us lots of fun ways to keep fit and taught us some great team games.  Perhaps your child will show you some of the games at home?!

That's all for now.

Don't forget it's Bank Holiday Monday - so no school!  See you Tuesday.
