Blakemere's Blog - 17.01.2020

Date: 18th Jan 2020 @ 12:15pm

This week has been another busy week in Blakemere! In English we planned and have written a piece of writing based on the amazing vulture using parenthesis, modal verbs and adverbs for possibility. We have retrieved information from our non-fiction text about the tiger, and are looking forward to planning and then writing a booklet based on the endangered animal next week.

In Maths, we have continued to focus on fractions, and have spent the week working on multiplying fractions. Next week we are moving on to dividing fractions and finding the whole amount from a given fraction, before looking at decimals!

In Science this week we have continued to focus on the theory of evolution and inheritance and the children have been looking at fossils, and learning about why they are important to us today.

We have also enjoyed our first session of tag rugby and look forward to our session next week! In topic we have looked at rivers, focusing upon erosion, transportation and deposition. We have also looked further into our key question in RE - whether science disproves Genesis.

Have a good weekend,
