Blakemere's Blog - 22.03.2019

Date: 24th Mar 2019 @ 3:39pm

Another week has come to an end in Blakemere with an incredible amount of work completed. At the start of the week, the children created some lovely poems using expanded noun phrases and other descriptive techniques. Following this, they worked hard to use personification and the subjunctive form to write about the weather. The children had to imagine that they were a particular type if weather and bring it life by describing what it would wear, how it would move and speak.

In Maths, we have explored converting between different units of measure and solving different problems involving measures. We recapped on the different types of measure and what they were used for and the children quickly put their knowledge into action. We also revised different types of fraction problems this week.

In topic, we explored the continent of Europe. we used atlases to help us name and label the different countries and their capital cities. We also discussed different ways of remembering which countries were which by their shape. For example, Italy is shaped like a boot, Portugal sits within Spain and how Denmark sits on top of Germany.

Another great week Blakemere. Well done!

See you all in the morning.
