Blakemere's Blog - 29.09.2019

Date: 29th Sep 2019 @ 11:33am

I cannot believe that we are at the end of our fourth week already Blakemere. Time certainly does fly when you're having fun.

Once again, we have been working extremely hard in all areas of our learning. In English, we have read a little more of our story and learnt a little more about our characters. The children are keen to find out about the next part of the story and all shall revealed next week. We have been continuing to use expanded nou phrases to describe nouns precisely and worked hard on creating complex sentences this week using subordinate conjunctions. We shall continue to learn about and use these within our writing over the next few weeks to help us to master these skills. The children truly impressed me this week with their diary entries as either Lydia or Helen from our story. Well done!

Maths has focussed on rounding numbers and the children have shown a good understanding of rounding any numbers. This skill will be further embedded when we move on to estimation, addition and subtraction next week.

We have also been time travellers in history exploring the rich and vast history of Chester. Next week, we are movng on to Chester during the Medieval period and howlots of this time period is still reflected in the city today.

As we have been learning about and using subordinate conjunctions this week, your SECRET MESSAGE is to tell me 3 different subordinate conjunctions you could use in your writing.

Remember to keep reading each night and practising your times tables and spellings.

See you in the morning.
