We have reached the end of our third week back and I couldn't be more proud of all the children in Blakemere. Everyone is working incredibly hard, whether that be in school or at home and it is wonderful to see. 

Our new text in English, The Selfish Giant, has provided us with lots of short writing opportunities so far and a chance to put the grammar skills we have learnt into practice. 

In Maths, we have started to explore decimal numbers and the children have shown a great understanding so far. 

We have continued to explore and learn about the reign of William the Conqueror in history and write a letter in role as him to his advisors to organise the survey of the land. The children worked extremely hard to maintain formal lanaguage throughout their letters. These will form part of our new display, so keep looking at our class page to see this. 

Every Friday, we celebrate our work from the week and I select three pieces to be our 'Excellent Examples'. A huge shout out to Adam, Jacky and Ruby for being our excellent examples this week.

Times Table Rockstars. I will be giving certificates to the top three scorers each week on a Friday so get yourselves on and see if you can lead the board. I will also be making an appearance so let's see if you can beat me! I will let you know my avatar name in the week.
