Blakemere's Blog 29.04.2022

Date: 2nd May 2022 @ 8:44pm

Another great week has been had in Blakemere where so much again has been achieved.

In Maths, we have continued to explore angles and have begun to use our knowledge of diifferent angles to help us to find missing angles either on a straight line or around a point. We then went on to explore how vertically opposite angles always equal the same amount and how this can also be used to help find missing angles.

In English, we have contiuned with our text of King Kong. The children, this week, have taken on the role of either Ann Darrow or Carl Denham form our text to produce a diary from their point of view. We then went on to revise speech and how we can use this to convey the character and advance the action by writing a speech sandwich between Ann and Carl with our partners.

In Science, we explored whether the voltage within a battery would have an impact on the brightness of a bulb. We were amazed to see that there was a change.

On Friday, we took part in a Deal or No Deal SPAG game as part of our revision sessions. The children enjoyed competing in their groups to earn the prizes from within the boxes for answering the questions correctly.

The children also explored different terminology in relation to rivers and continued to produce their websites about endangered species.

Great job Blakemere. You are my superstars!!
