๐ŸŒŸ Week 6 Class Blog – A Week of Growth, Creativity and Curiosity! ๐ŸŒŸ

What a fantastic sixth week we’ve had together! The classroom has been buzzing with enthusiasm, creativity, and some truly impressive learning across all subjects.

๐Ÿ“š English
We’ve continued our journey through Star of Fear, Star of Hope, diving deeper into the characters’ emotions and thoughts. The children have shown great insight while inferring feelings and exploring passive and active sentences. One of the highlights was creating a “speech sandwich” based on a conversation between two characters – a brilliant way to bring dialogue to life!

โž— Maths
Rounding has been our focus all week, and the children have really grown in confidence. Each day we tackled a new challenge, rounding to different amounts, and today we brought it all together by rounding any number to any amount. It’s been wonderful to see their understanding deepen and their excitement grow!

๐Ÿงช Science
This week in Science, we continued exploring the components of blood – and today, we made our very own! Using different food products to represent the parts of blood was a huge hit. The children loved it, and the classroom was full of curiosity and laughter. Why not ask them what each ingredient represented? There are lots of great photographs below capturing the fun!

๐ŸŽจ Art
Typography has remained our creative focus. Today, the children used pencil, pen, crayons, and charcoal to draw letters inspired by a variety of objects. Their imagination and attention to detail were fantastic – the results are truly unique!

๐Ÿ“– History
We’re building up to learning about the Battle of Britain. This week, we explored what leaders like Hitler and Churchill might have been thinking and doing just before the battle began. Listening to Churchill’s powerful “We shall fight them…” speech sparked some great discussions about leadership and resilience.

๐Ÿ† Celebrations
A huge shout-out to Brooke, Kobe, Oscar, Jaydan, and Evie for having their work selected for Excellent Examples!
Congratulations to Danielle, Adelaide, and Phoebe for winning in Times Table Rock Stars!
And a special well done to Jaydan, our Worker of the Week – fantastic effort!

๐Ÿ”” Reminders for Next Week

  • PE is on Tuesday and Friday – please ensure kits are in school.
  • Times Table Rock Stars – just 5 minutes a night makes a big difference. Let’s get those numbers back up!
  • Spellings – please support your child with their weekly spellings.
  • Reading Logs – links will be sent out again on Monday. Keep an eye out and keep recording that reading. We’re aiming for 4 reads per week.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend. I look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for another exciting week ahead!
