Blakemere's Weekly Blog - 12.09.2025

Date: 12th Sep 2025 @ 3:30pm

What a fantastic second week we’ve had together! The children have continued to impress me with their enthusiasm, focus, and kindness. It’s been another great week of learning and engagement, and I’m incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved.

English
We’ve begun exploring our new text Star of Fear, Star of Hope. The children have shown great curiosity and insight as we’ve delved into the story, exploring rich vocabulary and making thoughtful predictions. It’s been wonderful to see their ideas come to life in our discussions.

Maths
This week, we’ve been working with 6- and 7-digit numbers. The children have tackled a variety of activities with confidence and creativity, showing a strong understanding of place value and number patterns.

Science
Our new topic on the circulatory system is off to a brilliant start. The children drew and labelled detailed diagrams of the heart, demonstrating both care and accuracy.

Exciting Friday Fun!
Friday was packed with excitement! We had a visit from the petting zoo, and the children absolutely loved meeting and holding the different animals. Their joy and curiosity were a delight to see.

We also held our class school council elections. Each child who stood gave a confident and thoughtful speech in front of the class, and we voted democratically—just like at a real polling station! A huge well done to Adelaide and Jaydan, who will be representing our class this year. We’re very proud of you both!

Celebrating Achievements
Let’s give a big cheer for the following children:

  • Adelaide, Lexi-May, Kobe, and Connie – for having their work selected as excellent examples
  • Zac – our Worker of the Week
  • Adelaide, Phoebe, and Kira – our Top Times Table Rock Stars this week

Keep up the amazing work, everyone!

Please take a look at the images below from our week.
