Blakemere's Weekly Blog 16.09.2022

Date: 18th Sep 2022 @ 8:27pm

I can't quite believe that our second week as Blakemere has already come to an end. The children have once again worked extremely hard and are settling nicely into the routines of Blakemere life.

In Maths, this week, we have continued to explore the place value of six and seven digit numbers and applying what we know to different types of questions and problems. Towards the end of the week, we began to estimate where numbers would sit on different number lines, with different starting and ending numbers and I was extremely impressed with their accuracy and placement of numbers.

In English, we have continued to make predictions and inferences about our new text as well as looking at vocabulary that links to our book. We still have explored what our book is called and the children are desperate to find out. Hopefully next week.

In Science, we have started to explore the heart as part of the circulatory system. We explored the names of the different parts of the heart and then labelled a diagram. We are going to explore this further next week, my creating our own human model of the heart.

In RE, we have started to explore the non-religious world view of Humanism. We explore some of their key values and how these underpin everything that they do in life. We are going to explore these values in more depth over the next few weeks.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, and I shall see you on Tuesday.
