Our Wonderful Week in Class!
We’ve had such a productive week together, full of learning and creativity!
📚 English
We began our new book, A Place for Me: Stories from the Windrush Generation. The children made thoughtful predictions based on an image from the book and explored lots of new vocabulary, finding synonyms and deepening their understanding of words. We also started thinking about how to make our sentences more concise—great progress so far!
➗ Maths
This week, we focused on long multiplication and solved some challenging problems. We then moved on to division. Although some of us found this tricky at first, everyone showed fantastic perseverance and determination—well done!
📜 History
In our final history lesson, we explored The Blitz and its impact on thousands of people. We examined primary sources and considered what they revealed about life during this time. The children showed great curiosity and asked brilliant questions.
🌍 British Values
We discussed the value of tolerance and how it links to diversity. The class created beautiful acrostic poems based on these themes, which will make a stunning display in our classroom.
🎨 Art
Today, we produced artwork for the Cine Window at the shopping centre. Our theme was An Enchanted Forest, and the children created magical night scenes with snow, a glowing moon, and trees. The results were absolutely stunning!
Celebrations 🎉

Well done to everyone for your hard work and creativity this week—you’ve all been amazing!
Gentle Reminders
👟 PE Kits: Please make sure these are brought in on Tuesdays and Fridays.
📖 Reading: Should happen regularly and be recorded at least four times each week. This is an expectation for our children, and I would love to celebrate this with them.
🎮 Times Table Rockstars: A great way to support fluent recall—little and often is best!
✏️ Spelling Practice: Short, regular sessions make a big difference.
Hamper donations for our Traditional Christmas hamper would be amazing!!
Thank you for your continued support at home—it really makes a difference! Wishing you all a lovely weekend, and I look forward to another exciting week of learning ahead.
