Blakemere's Weekly Blog 29.01.2021

Date: 31st Jan 2021 @ 10:16am

What another fabulous week of learning in Blakemere whether in school or at home and I couldn't be prouder of you all.

We continue to explore the book 'The Selfish Giant' in English and have explored and learnt about using active and passive sentences and the subjunctive form. We then used these to write a monologue as the giant and a poem about if we were a giant.

In Maths, we continues to explore decimal numbers. We have worked on comparing and ordering decimal numbers, partitioning them and adding and subtracting them. Can you remember any top tips from our work on decimals this week?

In Science, we have looked at another part of the circulatory system - the lungs. We explored how oxygen enters our lungs and the body and how we get rid of carbon dioxide.

In topic, we explored the fearless King, King John. He was definitely a bad King from what we have found out so far. We will continue to explore him during next weeks topic lesson.

It was hard to select our excellent examples this week from all the fabulous work we have produced. But a big shout out to Sude, Cameron, Kyran and Isobelle for their work.

Well done to Jacky, Josh and Jayden for earning the top this places on the leaderboard for TimesTable Rockstars this week. Can anyone knock them off their spots next week?

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I shall see you all tomorrow either in school or via teams.

Mrs  M :)
