Blakemere's Weekly News - 07.10.2022

Date: 9th Oct 2022 @ 8:01pm

Another successful week in Blakemere this week.

In English, we have continued with our book, The Water Tower. We have again recapped on creating complex sentences and punctuating these accurately. On Wednesday, we took on the role of Bubba, one of the characters from the text and write a diary in role as him. The diary entries were excellent and I was very impressed with the children's writing. Towards the end of the week, we looked a little closer at both characters and created a role on the wall for them. We looked at both literal evidence for the characters as well as evidence we could infer.

We finished off rounding this week. The children demonstrated a great confidence in rounding any number to any amount and were able to swith between different amounts with ease. They also applied what they had learnt to a vareity of different problems.

In RE, we explored the world view of Humanism and discussed the qualities that make a good human. Learning about Humanism has enabled the class to explore beliefs and values that people hold in a slightly different way.

Science focused on learning about the lungs and the role they play within the circulatory and respiratory system.

I am looking forward to next week.

See you in the morning.
