Hatchmere Class Blog 21.01.22
Date: 21st Jan 2022 @ 3:45pm
Dear Hatchmerians,
The children have been really interested in learning about London. They have been challenged to build models of the famous landmarks and have created their own little mini-London scene. Some of the children have created their own London pictures in their choosing time and they have been celebrated around the school.
Hatchmere are getting very good at their transport dance and created quite a stir this week with several of the older classes inspired to join in and dance with them. Some of the children have told us that they are practicing the dance at home and getting family to join in. Any pictures of this will be gratefully received and as the children can show their learning at home they can receive a coveted 5 raffle tickets!!
In Literacy this week we have been exploring the use of High Frequency Words to help us to build our sentences. As the children’s knowledge of HFWs grow, as will their ability and confidence to construct a well thought out and meaningful sentence. All of the children have a HFW word sheet inside their reading folder to practice with at home.
As always, if any of the children do any writing/picture making/model building even singing and dancing that is related to their learning in school, please send work/pictures in and it will be celebrated within the classroom. Alongside this, if the children achieve anything outside of the school that they would like to share with the class, this will be celebrated too!! We love to hear what the children get up outside of the wonderful world of Hatchmere :0)
Next week we will be learning about Chinese New Year and some of the traditions that surround the festival. Please see the plans below for further details.
