Delamere Class Weekly Blog - 05.09.25

Date: 5th Sep 2025 @ 2:19pm

Wishing you all a very warm welcome to Team Delamere! We hope that you have had a great Summer and look forward to the exciting year ahead.

We have had a fantastic first week in Delamere Class and it has been wonderful getting to know the children who have brightened the room with their smiles and made an all round great start to Year 2!

We have begun to learn the class routines, thought of special words to describe ourselves, read the story 'The Word Collector', collected our own set of interesting words, recognised and labelled groups of objects using numerals and number words, made our own magic breath pictures to help us think about our big feelings and even managed to adopt our own frogs! Wow - if we can achieve all of this in the first four days just think what we can achieve this year! Well done Delamere!

It was great to see so many children with a full PE kit. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit every Tuesday & Thursday for our regular PE sessions and also on a Wednesday for an extra cricket session for this half term.

You will have seen the message about reading books coming home the week  beginning the 15th September. Please don't let this stop you from reading at home together though and we will be reading with the children in school during this time.

Your child will have brought home a Numbots password and we hope that you enjoy exploring this great Maths game together. This forms part of our home learning and we recommend short sessions regularly to help boost your child's confidence with their Maths skills. If you have any problems logging on or using the programme please just let us know and we are more than happy to help.

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning mext week.
