Delamere Update Friday 10th June 2016

What a hot week it has been! Thank you to all those parents that have been sending their child to school, with a hat, water and wearing sun cream.

This week we have been planning our own Traction Man stories so that we can write them next week. The children have all created new characters and settings for their stories.

In maths we have been telling the time. It is not so easy! Year 2 have been telling the time to 5 minutes and Year 3 to the nearest minute, on analogue clocks. Please practice telling the time on analogue clocks at home, this will really help them become more accurate with this skill.

In science we carried out an investigation to find out if children get faster as they grow older. We invited children from Year One and Year Five to come and helps us. Perhaps your child can tell you what they investigated and what they found out.

We had a really fun end to the week celebrating The Queen’s 90th birthday. Each child has made a birthday card and some of them designed a cake to help her celebrate. They also made fantastic crowns so that they were a king or a queen for the day. You can see all the wonderful crowns on the picture below.
