Well done for another super week, Delamere! The children have shown such a positive attitude in all areas of their learning and we are incredibly proud of the progress they continue to make.
In English, the class completed their own versions of Troll Swap and all we can say is… wow! Every story was fantastic and packed full of our mastery keys. We finished the week by publishing parts of our writing, which became a wonderful celebration of the children’s hard work and creativity.
It has also been a marvellous week in Maths. The children focused on using subtraction strategies, confidently applying the crossing-out method and our rainbow method. They approached their work so thoughtfully and with great success. Next week, we will be moving on to mixed calculations with a focus on problem solving.
In PSHCE, we explored our body language unit, learning how to communicate a range of emotions through our bodies as well as our facial expressions. We played a guessing game to identify different emotions and even created our own emojis. It was a great opportunity to build vocabulary and deepen our understanding of feelings. We also helped Deedee make sensible choices by reading body language carefully.
In PE, we made a fantastic start to our football skills unit. The whole class were fabulous, showing brilliant sportsmanship and strong skill development. We also began our Netball work, practising chest passes and shoulder passes with great success. Just a gentle reminder to send kits into school, especially long PE trousers and suitable footwear as the weather gets colder.
In Art, we explored our knowledge organisers in preparation for our new unit on mono printing, which we are all very excited to begin. We also reflected on the skills from our previous unit and discussed how these could be transferred into our new learning.
In DT, we spent time evaluating our bathing machines. It was wonderful to hear the children confidently talk about what went well and what they would improve next time.
In RE, we continued our learning about the Jewish celebration of Shabbat, finding out more about how and when it is celebrated. We all agreed that coming together as a family every week to share a special meal sounds like a lovely idea.
Our big WELL DONE for Numbots this week goes to Kora, Leighton and Myah. We would also like to extend a huge thank you for all the support you give with reading at home—it really does make a massive difference.
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
