The end of another week already!

Maths - We have continued with partitioning 2 digit numbers and at the end of the week moved on to comparing them. We have learnt that in maths < means less than and that > means greater than.

English – We have been looking at a poem called The British by Benjamin Zephaniah. We took inspiration from his poem to write our own recipe poems called The Children of Over St John’s. I am so impressed with the ideas and vocabulary that the children have included. They may have brought their draft copy of their poem home to show you.

Topic – On Monday we looked at maps of the local area, on paper and on Google maps. We found lots of interesting places and tried to find out what road they are on.

Later in the week we began our work about plants, trying to find out what makes plants grow and how to keep them healthy. We all had great fun making paper sycamore seeds and testing them outside.

Today the children have worked with a partner to create a poster on the Learnpads using pic collage. The poster is to tell others some important tips for staying safe on computers. You can take a look at them below.

Reading – So impressed with all the reading that is taking place at home. Today we had the first set of children receiving a prize for reading ten times at home, well done!

Reminder – Homework is due back on Monday. New homework will then be sent home on Tuesday.

Have a lovely weekend.
