Delamere's Update 26.4.17

Date: 26th Apr 2017 @ 8:46pm

There has been lots of hard work taking place in Delamere.

We had a visitor from NFER doing some reading papers with us on Tuesday and Wednesday. We were chosen to take part in a trial for future SATs reading papers. I was very proud of all the children. They will each receive a pencil from NFER as a thank you for their help.

Talking about SATs, I am planning to do the maths and reading papers in the week beginning Monday 15th May. If you have any questions about this please do come and ask. There is no pressure or stress surrounding them, we have done several papers over the year and the children do them quite happily. With the children I just refer to them as maths and reading booklets.

Thank you to all the parents who took the time to complete the reading paper over the holiday, the children who completed it have certainly benefited from the extra practise. As are the children who are reading regularly at home. The vast majority of the class are reading at home every day – amazing!

We have started our new topic – Into the Forest. Please take a look on our topic page to see what we will be learning about. There may even be a visit to Delamere Forest if the children work hard enough!

DON’T FORGET – Class photograph on Tuesday so make sure you are all looking smart!

As always please come and see me if you have any questions.
