Welcome back everyone – what a super week we have had!
โ๏ธ English
This week, we completed our own beautiful versions of The Owl and the Pussycat poem. The children worked incredibly hard to publish their writing using their very best handwriting, and the results are absolutely gorgeous. We are so proud!
๐ข Maths
In Maths, we’ve been exploring counting in 3s and revisiting counting in 2s, 5s, and 10s. The children have made fantastic progress! Next week, we’ll be diving into our new unit: Addition and Subtraction, building on all of our great place value work.
๐ Geography
We’ve been learning about the continents! Using atlases and a globe, we located each one and even learnt a fun continents song. The children really enjoyed these mapping activities.
๐งช Science
Our new topic is Living Things and Their Habitats. This week, we focused on identifying living and non-living things and completed a sorting activity to show our understanding.
๐ PE
We started our dance unit and explored how to express emotions through movement. A big shout out to Coby and Max for their excellent moves! We also started our Games unit and had a great game of dodgeball.
๐จ Art
We just had to share our artwork with you – it’s absolutely beautiful! Check out the photos below to see the children’s creativity in action.
๐ต Nursery Rhyme of the Week
We’ve had lots of fun with There Was an Old Woman Who Swallowed a Fly, listening to and joining in with lots of different versions.
Compassion
In our class collective worship this week we watched a great video called 'Kindness Boomerang'. The children loved it and spotted lots of ways that compassion was shown and then we linked it to the parable of 'The Good Samaritan'. I have told them that I would attach the link to the blog - so here it is! Life Vest Inside - Kindness Boomerang - "One Day"
Congratulations to Archie, Leighton, and Molly – our Numbots superstars this week! And a big WELL DONE to all the children who read over the holidays – great work!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
