Delamere's Weekly Blog - 12.12.25

Date: 12th Dec 2025 @ 1:32pm

Where has this week disappeared to?! Time is really flying and even though we are only two weeks from the big day, just like Santa's elves, we are still working very hard in Delamere!

Maths
We have continued to build our confidence with new strategies to solve addition involving two 2-digit numbers and we have been amazed at the progress being made. We even moved onto column method today - great work Delamere!

English
We have reached the end of our book 'Troll Swap' now and have spent some time this week re-reading, sequencing and blocking the story into the beginning, the middle and the end. We can't wait to write our own versions after the Christmas break! We have also completed our phonics assessments this week and are so proud of the progress being made by everyone.

Geography
We looked at the differences between Kenya and UK this week and next week we will begin to look at urban and rural areas.

Our big well done this week goes to Leighton, Myah and Robyn for their incredible successes with Numbots! Thank you also to all of your support with your children's reading at home.

We are very much looking forward to our Christmas Fair after school today and it has been so exciting to see the elves getting everything ready!

Don't forget to check out Mrs Snowdon's blog to see what Christmas treats await next week.

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more festive fun and learning next week.
