Is it really the end of another half term? That whizzed by so quickly, we must have been having fun!

In English this week the children have really enjoyed revisiting a classic traditional tale, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We acted out and sequenced the story using props and then explored lots of different writing genres including diary writing and letters. We also revisited a very exciting time in our class, the day the dragons came. We recalled all of the details of this event and then wrote a recount using lots of our mastery skills. Some great results, in particular a stand out piece of writing from Savannah who is one of this week’s Excellent Examples.

In Science we explored the life cycle of a bean, sequencing the different stages and using our bodies to act it out. Some of us also wrote a brief description of what happens during each stage. You will have noticed that the children’s bean plants have come home today (I do hope that they made it home in one piece!). We had some very different results with our individual beans, with some sprouting so high that they have needed extra support to some that have not yet peeped up above the soil. Please do not give up on your bean, it may just need a brighter spot, a bigger pot and some extra time. Just like us, seeds can grow and bloom at different times. Please do send us pictures of your beans over the next few weeks, we would love to see their progress.

In RE we looked at the Lord’s prayer and thought about what it tells us about the Kingdom of God. Some really lovely ideas about what the Kingdom of God would look like.

Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Toby our Numbots super star and Danielle, Adelaide and Toby who are our Times Table Rock Star winners this week.

Have a fantastic week off school – we can’t wait to hear all about it when we return on Monday 5th June.
