Well that was a hot one but the children have coped brilliantly!
In English we began to explore our new book ‘The Dragon Machine’ by first looking at some pictures and making predictions and then seeing what we could find out about the main character from the first few pages. Some very thoughtful ideas and it was great to see the children looking closely for clues.
We made great progress with our fraction work too this week with the children learning how to identify unit and non-unit fractions. We also investigated what we know if the numerator and denominator are the same. Great Maths work Delamere!
Our fire engine models are coming along brilliantly as we began to decorate the bodies using a variety of techniques, including painting, wrapping and layering tissue paper. We also used different resources to make some of the accessories such as ladders, hoses and lights. Check out the pictures below to see how focused we were in our DT work this week!
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Lily and Tyler for topping the TTRS leader board. Remember if your child finds TTRS tricky to begin with, they will soon build up their fluency as they practise regularly. To begin with, feel free to help them with the answers or have the times table and division facts next to them to support them. Practise is the key. We don’t ask for the children to do much home learning and using the TTRS website 3 times a week is one of them so please do support them with this.
We hope that you have a great weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
