Delamere's Weekly Blog - 29.11.2024

Another very busy week in Delamere, the last one of November! Where did November go?!
In English we have been learning about adverbs through our story ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’. We then tried to use our senses to explore a firework show using lots of lovely adjectives and adding further detail with adverbs. Some lovely vocab work!
In Maths we used our fantastic knowledge of number bonds and doubles to help us add three 1-digit numbers together. We were really impressed with how the children applied what they already know to solve more difficult addition problems. Next week we will begin to work out how to add to the next 10, again using our number bond knowledge. Great work Delamere.
In other areas of the curriculum we explored a variety of sources to prove statements about the three Queens in History, further explored Jesus the King and began to think about the Christmas story paying particular attention to the wise men’s role, we created some gorgeous synchronised routines in our dance, continued to develop our hockey skills in Games and used atlases to name and locate the seven continents and 5'oceans in Geography.
Our big WELL DONE this week goes to Kalvin, Archie, Oliver and Charlie for topping the Numbots leader board this week and well done to the children who have brought in their spelling home learning.
Please don't forget that we need contribtions of all things chocolately for our class Christmas hamper!
We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to more fun and learning next week.
