Delamere's Weekly Blog - 6.9.2024

Date: 6th Sep 2024 @ 4:36pm

We are sending a big hello and a very warm welcome to our new Delamere Class! What a fantastic start to the new year we have had – all of the children have been brilliant – Ready, Respectful and Safe all round! It has been a pleasure getting to know everyone and we cannot wait to see what the year holds.

This week has been all about exploring the classroom, learning about our routines and expectations and it has been great to see the children accessing the different parts of the learning environment so respectfully. Lots of raffle tickets have been given for many different reasons with hard work, kind actions and great teamwork to name just a few.

At the beginning of the week our learning focused around a story called ‘Perfectly Norman’, an uplifting story about celebrating diversity and embracing what makes you you. The children have each made beautiful pieces of art work adding their own individual wings to a photo of themselves. They look wonderful on our wall!

Towards the end of the week we used a book called ‘My Magic Breath’ to explore ways that we can manage our big feelings. We created our own magic breath pictures and then used them to practise our breathing skills. Great work Delamere!

This year PE sessions will take place on a Tuesday and a Wednesday. Please send your child’s PE kit in in a bag that can be left at school. We will keep the PE kits in to make life easier and send them home half termly. Any children that had a separate PE bag this week have already popped them in our PE store so don’t worry if it hasn’t come home.

Reading - There will be more information to follow about reading books so keep your eyes peeled!

The children should also have brought their spellings home today which are to be practised for next weeks Spell Check session.

Don’t forget to have a look around the Delamere Class page on the OSJ website for even more information about the class.

We hope that you have a wonderful weekend and look forward to lots more fun and learning next week.
